Alysia hails from the East Coast by way of Connecticut and is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Growing up, she was a three-sport athlete receiving top honors and recognition for Basketball, Volleyball and Softball. Alysia attended the University of Connecticut at Avery Point where she played basketball before enlisting in the U.S. Army National Guard. She spent 2 years with the Connecticut National Guard before transferring to Massachusetts to become a Broadcast Specialist. During her time in Massachusetts, Alysia was able to travel with and tell the stories of many service members through video including the relentless efforts of the First Responders during the Boston Marathon Bombing, Hurricanes Irene and Sandy; and the comeback story of the city of Boston and their World Series win. Following her time in the service, Alysia continued her work in local media while also serving as a volunteer basketball coach at the local YMCA; which eventually led to her becoming the Head Coach of The Gordon School Varsity Girls' Basketball Team. Although she loves all things broadcast media, sports and coaching remain her strongest passions which is what drove her to pursue her dream of becoming a certified trainer.
